Accessibility Statement
Effective date: 1 June 2026 | Last reviewed: 1 June 2026
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
Penguin & Elephant Consulting is committed to making our website and services accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, disability, or the technology used to access them.
We believe that digital accessibility is not just a legal requirement but a fundamental aspect of good, inclusive service design. We want every visitor — whether using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, voice control, or any other assistive technology — to be able to use our website and engage with our services effectively.
All of our HR consulting services are delivered entirely remotely, via video call, telephone, email, and shared digital documents. We do not have a physical office. This means there are no physical premises barriers to access, and we are able to accommodate a wide range of communication preferences and needs.
2. Applicable Standards
We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), set out how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
This statement is prepared with reference to the following regulatory frameworks:
-
United Kingdom: the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Equality Act 2010. Although these Regulations apply primarily to public sector bodies, we voluntarily apply the same standards as a matter of good practice and our commitment to inclusion.
-
European Union: the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), which will progressively require digital services to be accessible. EU member states are implementing this into national law with effect from 28 June 2025.
-
Switzerland: the Federal Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against People with Disabilities (BehiG / LHand) and the Accessibility Guidelines for Web Content (WCAG), which Swiss federal bodies apply and which represent best practice for private businesses.
-
United States: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which require websites serving the public to be accessible. We apply WCAG 2.1 AA as the recognised technical standard for ADA compliance.
3. Current Accessibility Status
Our website is built on the Wix platform. The level of accessibility achievable is partly dependent on Wix’s own accessibility features and any limitations of the platform. Wix has published its own accessibility commitment and works towards WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.
Based on our current assessment, the accessibility status of key features of our website is as follows:

Legend: • Green = meets standard • Amber = partially meets or in progress • Red = known issue
4. Known Accessibility Limitations
We are aware of the following current limitations and are actively working to address them:
-
Some images on the website do not yet have descriptive alt text. We are in the process of adding alt text to all meaningful images.
-
Keyboard navigation and focus management are partially dependent on the Wix platform. Wix is continuously improving its accessibility support; we monitor updates and apply improvements as they become available.
-
The Calendly booking widget is a third-party tool. While Calendly publishes its own accessibility statement and works towards WCAG compliance, we cannot guarantee full conformance within embedded third-party components. We offer alternative booking methods — see Section 6.
-
Some interactive elements may not be fully operable with all screen reader software. We are reviewing these and will address issues as they are identified.
We are committed to addressing these limitations progressively. Our target is to achieve WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all content we directly control by 1 January 2027.
5. What We Do Well
We are pleased to note the following accessibility strengths of our current website and services:
-
All consulting services are delivered fully remotely, removing any physical access barriers.
-
We are flexible about how we communicate — we can engage by video call, telephone, email, or written document exchange, and will adapt to your preferred format.
-
Our website is mobile responsive and viewable on a wide range of devices and screen sizes.
-
Colour contrast on primary text meets WCAG 2.1 AA minimum requirements.
-
We do not use auto-playing video or audio content that cannot be paused or stopped.
-
Our written materials are drafted in clear, plain language and can be provided in alternative formats on request.
6. Alternative Access and Reasonable Adjustments
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website or services, or if you need information in a different format or with a reasonable adjustment made, please contact us. We are happy to:
-
Provide documents in a larger font size, or in plain text format.
-
Arrange a telephone call instead of a video call.
-
Send information by email in a format compatible with your assistive technology.
-
Discuss and agree alternative ways of working that meet your needs.
-
Accept booking enquiries directly by email or telephone, as an alternative to our online booking tool.
As a small, fully remote business, we pride ourselves on being flexible and person-centred. If there is a particular adjustment that would help you engage with our services, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate it.
7. Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website and services. If you:
-
encounter an accessibility barrier;
-
find that something does not work with your assistive technology;
-
need content in an alternative format; or
-
would like to request a reasonable adjustment,
please contact us using the details below. We aim to respond to all accessibility-related enquiries within 5 business days.

8. Escalation and Enforcement
If you have raised an accessibility concern with us and are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the relevant authority in your jurisdiction:
-
United Kingdom: the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) — equalityhumanrights.com — or, for public sector website complaints, the Government Digital Service.
-
European Union: the national enforcement body in your EU member state responsible for the European Accessibility Act.
-
Switzerland: the Federal Office for the Equality of People with Disabilities (EBGB / BFEH) — ebgb.admin.ch.
-
United States: the US Department of Justice (ADA complaints) or the relevant state agency.
9. Technical Information
This website is built using the Wix website platform. The technologies relied upon for accessibility conformance include HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as rendered by Wix. Our accessibility implementation is dependent in part on Wix’s own platform-level accessibility features.
We use Calendly as a third-party scheduling tool. Calendly’s accessibility statement is available on their website at calendly.com.
10. How We Test
We assess the accessibility of our website using the following methods:
-
Self-evaluation against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
-
Manual keyboard navigation testing.
-
Review using browser-based accessibility checking tools.
-
Periodic review whenever significant changes are made to the website.
We have not yet commissioned a formal third-party accessibility audit. We intend to do so as the business grows and will update this statement to reflect audit findings.
11. Updates to This Statement
We will review and update this Accessibility Statement:
-
at least annually;
-
following any significant changes to the website; and
-
when we receive feedback that identifies new issues.
The “Last reviewed” date at the top of this statement reflects when it was most recently updated.
